Seems like everyone is talking about Twitter these days. The latest addition to the social media scene, of which the likes of Facebook and LinkedIn already are already part, is receiving a tremendous amount of media hype and has fast become a powerhouse marketing and information channel.
Nightline, Oprah, CNN, and even the Army are now using Twitter. The channel has been used as a political communication avenue, a way for celebrities to connect in a different way with their fans, and perhaps more significant for you, a new way to market that enhances other marketing activities and that can improve your bottom line in numerous ways.
We of Swimbert, also known as the NO GURU ZONE gals, are staunch Twitterers. Karen has been part of Twitter (and the whole social media scene) pretty much from its inception, and she has a great view of how we got here and a really good handle on the third party applications that have sprung up to enhance the value of Twitter. Trish was dragged kicking and screaming into the social media scene only recently, so has the skeptic-turned-fan view of the whole thing. Together, we can give you a non-guru look at how Twitter can be of value to you, how to get started, how to get more out of it both tactically and strategically, and along with our great pal and associate Lou Bortone, how video and Twitter can merge to make things happen.

Swimbert is conducting 5 (count them, five) free one-hour Twitter classes, each one focused on a point on the spectrum.
These classes are not just “dial in and get a voice download” classes.
- We use screen sharing to go through key online spots that will show you Twitter in action in lots of different ways.
- In some of the classes, you will do exercises in pairs or small groups that give you hands on experience during the class.
- In all the classes, we invite questions and dialog to get your questions answered and ideas a-poppin’ for ways you can take best advantage of Twitter.

Session 1: What Can Twitter Do For Me?

That’s the question that Twitter poses, and it can confuse people if they take it too literally. Twitter is about conversation, sharing bits and pieces of your life and your business with a small subset of the Twitterverse. You can create new relationships, ramp up your credibility, attract new prospects, and get the attention of media professionals if you use Twitter in a useful way.
This call is for anyone who wants to get started with Twitter or for those who have accounts haven’t done a whole lot with them. On the call you will learn:

If you are using Twitter from its own site, you are missing out on big opportunities. An impressive array of applications, many of them free to use, have sprung up that give you lots more results-producing muscle.
This call is for anyone who wants to get more out of Twitter and who wants to use Twitter time-efficiently. On the call you will learn:
- Strategies for getting more out of Twitter in less time
- More ways to tweet that get results
- What third party applications we recommend
- How to use those applications
There will be an interactive portion of the call, where you can get online and try some strategies yourself!

Yes!!! Twitter is not a standalone thing. It is a marketing tool and, like any marketing tool, works best when integrated with other marketing tools. When you are using Twitter as an integrated part of an ongoing marketing program, you will get a lot more results in a lot less time. In true Swimbert fashion, we will give you great examples of strategic use of Twitter so that you can decide how you want to apply it in your own business.
